Community Sandbox

A mother's refuge during lockdown, this sanctuary in East Village procured a Citizen's grant to build a pentagon-shaped amphitheater-sandbox. Using nominally-sized cedar planks, the seating grows in height and depth to accommodate bodies of all sizes. Beneath a leaning oak, it positions visitors in the round to play and observe one another.
